When purchase no longer equates to ownership: bad news for buyers of The Crew who hoped it was still available for use
We were hoping to open Monday with official news outside of the rumors or at least with something more cheerful, and here we are talking about The Crew which, for players who paid hard cash to do it their own, suddenly it's no longer available. It is now a sadly known fact that the concept of ownership with the digital format takes its time, from DRM systems (Denuvo first and foremost) to the closure of servers. Now, perhaps as proof of the publisher's previous statements regarding the “necessary change” towards the eternal rental of video games, Ubisoft he turned off the taps. And if you were hoping to be able to play the title online-only via other servers, the publisher revoked all buyers' licenses.

From video game to NFT (but not even): The Crew is not available to players who have purchased it
As you can see above, not only has The Crew stopped being available, but to add insult to injury we also have the mockery. The message on the game library reads: “You no longer have access to this game. Why don't you check out the store for more adventures?” Ubisoft has yet to comment on the matter, but the post on Reddit on the matter leaves it very clear what the community thinks about it. It is more than natural (sacrosanct, we would add, ed.) to expect to be in possession of a game into which part of the salary is poured. Now we have a precedent in our hands: that of the temporary purchases. James Stephanie Sterling will probably make a particularly colorful video out of it, but the matter certainly won't end here.
