Just two days ago there DxOMark, an authoritative world-renowned rating agency, reviewed the camera of the Huawei P50 Pro, calling it the best globally. And now the agency has also analyzed the display smartphone, which earned 93 points in the evaluation. This allows it to get past the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. And so, for the first time, a Huawei display finds itself gaining a better position than its competitor.
Huawei P50 Pro: display rated the best in the world
According to the recent evaluation by DxOmark, the display of the Huawei P50 Pro stands out for four strengths: brightness suitable for watching video HDR10, good readability in low light conditions and indoors, fluid touch and precise, almost total absence of flicker. This, however, does not mean that it is perfect. The evaluation agency, in fact, has also reported some weakness in the smartphone display. The default brightness, for example, is too low for pleasant readability in outdoor conditions. And then again, a slight yellow / green cast was noticed in all test conditions.
Dark tones lack detail when watching HDR10 video content, and frame drops are sometimes noticed when starting games. Despite this, in terms of readability the Huawei P50 Pro reveals itself excellent. As long as it is not in an environment of maximum brightness. Plus, brightness adjustment is smooth and quick, with no noticeable gradients. However, when the ambient light increases, the response of the device is a bit slow and the brightness will be lost when the screen is viewed from an angle. As for the color performance, however, the display shows high fidelity effects in sRGB colors (standard) and is optimal for image editing. However, there is a slight yellow cast in the eye comfort mode, which is almost the same as Samsung’s.
Even when it comes to video viewing, the Huawei P50 Pro proves to be far better than previous generations. After advancing the progress bar, the video can resume and continue immediately, which brings great results in the user experience. Finally, also i touch controls they seem optimal. The corners and edges are easy to use. The device is fluid while playing games and browsing the web. However, there is a clear gradient when viewing photos in the gallery program. Despite this, it is the best in the world, mind you.
