Ausing 0-20 g/km of CO2: 3 thousand euros for scrapping and 5 thousand without; car 21-60 g/km of CO2: 2 thousand euros without scrapping and 4 thousand euros with scrapping; car 61-135 g/km of CO2: 2 thousand euros with scrapping. With regard to the funds availablethere is a circular from the ministry dated 28 December 2023 which says:

  • 205 million euros for the purchase of brand new M1 category vehicles approved in a class not lower than Euro 6, with emissions included in the 0-20 g/Km CO2 range and a list price equal to or less than 35,000 euros excluding VAT
  • 245 million euros for the purchase of brand new M1 category vehicles approved in a class not lower than Euro 6, with emissions in the 21-60 g/Km CO2 range and a list price equal to or less than 45,000 euros excluding VAT
  • 205 million euros for the purchase of brand new M1 category vehicles approved in a class not lower than Euro 6, with emissions in the 61-135 g/Km CO2 range and a list price equal to or less than 35,000 euros excluding VAT

The change on the Ecobonus should arrive between February and March. Even though the Ecobonus is already active again, the fact that it has the old structure could push people to wait for the change to arrive before buying a new car. This would cause a pause in the automotive market.

What the new Ecobonus on 2024 car incentives should be like

According to information leaked in recent months, the new Ecobonus structure should be this. Regarding electric cars, they range from 6,000 euros without scrapping up to 11,000 euros with scrapping for a car up to Euro 2. For ISEEs under 30,000 euros, they range from 7,500 euros to 13,750 euros. The price limit always remains at 35,000 euros plus VAT. The scheme would be this:

  • No scrapping: 6,000 euros (7,500 euros for ISEE under 30,000 euros)
  • Scrapping Euro 4: 9,000 euros (11,250 euros for ISEE under 30,000 euros)
  • Scrapping Euro 3: 10,000 euros (12,500 for ISEE under 30,000 euros)
  • Scrapping up to Euro 2: 11,000 euros (13,750 euros for ISEE under 30,000 euros)

As for the band, come on 21-60 g/km of CO2the scheme could be this:

  • No scrapping: 4,000 euros (5,000 euros for ISEE under 30,000 euros)
  • Scrapping Euro 4: 5,500 euros (6,875 euros for ISEE under 30,000 euros)
  • Scrapping Euro 3: 6,000 euros (7,500 for ISEE under 30,000 euros)
  • Scrapping up to Euro 2: 8,000 euros (10,000 euros for ISEE under 30,000 euros)

And finally, for the Euro 6 with emissions between 61 and 135 g/km of CO2the scheme would be as follows:

  • No scrapping: no incentive
  • Scrapping Euro 4: 1,500 euros
  • Scrapping Euro 3: 2,000 euros
  • Scrapping up to Euro 2: 3,000 euros
