EA SPORTS has announced the official arrival of the first women’s teams in NHL 22. For the first time, the women’s teams ofIIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) and the world championship, are available in the patch update. Below we present the official trailer.
Added first women’s teams in NHL 22
Starting today, players can go out on the ice with female icons come Marie-Philip Poulin e Natalie Spooner del Team Canada; Hilary Knight e Kendall Coyne-Schofield of Team USA, and many others, in different ways. Team Canada captain Marie-Philip Poulin said:
It was a privilege to lace up my digital skates for the first time in NHL 22, and doing it while playing for my country makes it even more surreal. Representation matters. I’m thrilled that any young girl who picks up a controller to play NHL 22 can feel that hockey is a sport for her too.
Even the IIHF men’s world championship is now usable as part of the update. Sixteen men’s international teams e ten women’s international teams are now available in the title. Each of them is playable in various game mode such as Play Now, Online VS, Threes Now, and Shootout, along with their respective World Championship modes.
The men’s and women’s IIHF teams follow the introduction of the prestigious IIHF World Junior Championship. The league was added last month along with miscellaneous federations, logos e uniforms available in Ultimate Team and World of Chel. Sean Ramjagsingh, VP and GM, EA SPORTS, said:

The new updates arrive shortly after the debut of thelatest episode of the digital series in five parts Breaking Ice, namely the collaboration between EA SPORTS and UNINTERRUPTED Canada. The episode, which features members of the Canadian and US women’s national teams discussing their work to create lasting and meaningful change in the world of sports, is available on YouTube.
