The Good Doctor, the beloved hospital drama series, will close its doors with its seventh season. Let’s see some previews
Season 7 of The Good Doctor it will be the last. First broadcast in 2017, the much-loved series follows Freddie Highmore as Shaun Murphy, a young autistic surgeon who works at the prestigious St. Bonaventure Hospital di San Jose. The cast of the TV series also includes Richard Schiff, Christina Chang, Will Yun Lee, Fiona Gubelmann, Paige Spara, Noah Galvin and Bria Samoné Henderson. Since its premiere, the medical drama has been one of the network’s longest-running and most-watched shows ABC. For six seasons, the TV series told the complex life of dottor Shaun Murphy and the many challenges, successes and achievements of the character and his colleagues in the fast-paced world of medicine. However, the cast has experienced a lot of turnover over the years. Schiff, who plays Shaun’s mentor Dr. Aaron Glassman, is the only other character from the series to remain on the show from season one.
The Good Doctor Season 7: spoilers on the plot
In addition to Highmore and Schiff, in cast of seventh season there is also Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick, Lee as Dr. Alex Park, Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim, Spara as Lea Dilallo, Henderson as Dr. Jordan Allen and Galvin as Dr. Asher Wolke. Additionally, original cast member Chuku Modu, who returned midway through season six to reprise his role as Dr. Jared Kalu, was once again promoted to series regular for the final season. There should probably be more “surprise” appearances from fan-favorite characters.
As for the plot of the seventh season, the last one ended with several very important cliffhangers, which should be addressed soon. Shaun and Lea will bring their newborn baby home and adjust to parenthood. Meanwhile, St. Bonaventure will have to deal with two major departures: Dr. Andrews has resigned from his position as hospital president, and Dr. Perez has left to recover from his opioid addiction. As is generally the case with final seasons, season 7 of The Good Doctor should be the most dramatic.
