The shooting of The Killer, a new film by David Fincher and distributed by Netflix, has ended
It has almost become a tradition now. Once the shooting of a feature film or series ends, the news is broadcast on social media with a customary photo. This is also the case with The Killerthe new film by David Fincher with protagonist Michael Fassbender e Tilda Swinton. The killer, a lonely and cold man, methodical and not bothered by scruples or remorse, waits in the shadows, watching his next target. Yet the longer she waits, the more he thinks he’s going mad and losing his coolness. A brutal, elegant and bloody noir story of a hitman lost in a world without a moral compass, an example of a lonely man armed to the teeth as he slowly loses his mind. This is the synopsis of The killerthe graphic novel French from which The Killer is based. Le tueur was published in twelve volumes from 1998 to 2013written by Alexis Nolent (known under the pseudonym Matz) and drawn by Luc Jacamon. As already mentioned, we find the director David Fincher, which continues its contract with Netflix after the Mindhunter series and the feature film Mank. Among the protagonists we find Michael Fassbender e Tilda Swintonwhile the screenplay is entrusted to Andrew Kevin Walker. Filming took place in New Orleans, Paris, the Dominican Republic, Chicago and Los Angeles.
The Killer represents Fincher’s return to directing a feature film following Mank’s critical acclaim. The latter has collected 10 nominations and two wins at the 2020 Oscars. Previously, the director had dealt with Mindhunter, a series also distributed by Netflix in two seasons that has been a great success. Of the latter, fans are clamoring for one third seasonwhich however is not in the plans of its creator.
