The hype is real, indeed, regal for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with fans lining up to buy the game well in advance
The wait coming to an end has certainly not been one of the shortest, not with all the postponements of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdombut fans really can’t wait anymore if they’re already on in a row forty-eight hours frompurchase of the game. In reality they will be less, if we count that the Nintendo World of New York intends to set up a launch at midnight. However, exactly, we always talk about midnight. Not that that has deterred hardcore fans from queuing up in front of the store. There is also the fact that there is no need to do it for some of them, for more than one reason…
For the purchase of The Legend of Zelda there is a queue, for Tears of the Kingdom and the audience it attracts
With the possibility of relying on presales, in fact, for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom there should be no reason to get in line, but that hasn’t stopped lovers of the world of Hyrule. In particular Alex “Captain Nintendo Dude” Pekala he queued yesterday morning at ten, although in his case he will not be able to access the game at midnight. In fact, last Sunday Pekala publicly complained on YouTube about the “Warp Pipe Pass”, the presale system (with a name eerily similar to Fastpass) with which to secure a specific time slot to avoid overcrowding.
I made it to the #TearsOfTheKingdom line @NintendoNYC !
10am today till 10am Friday = 72 full hours. This will be the longest I’ve ever waited without leaving the line. Wish me luck!

Upon activating the service for Eiji Aonuma’s youngest son, the official site crash prevented Pekala and others from grabbing the coveted midnight slot. The only time slot available was ten in the morning, which is why the last hours of waiting will be much harder for him to bear, with crowds of fans taking home their copy. Nintendo will accompany the launch with a direct by the internal localization team, Treehouse. It’s news like this that makes the wait for Friday 12 May (The day after tomorrow!) so much the harder even for us who are writing!
