The version of Pro Display XDR that Apple wants to launch in 2022 may have a price definitely more affordable than the current one. In fact it seems that it can cost half of the current 5,599 euros for the standard version, which become 6,599 euros for glass with nanotexture.
Apple halves the price of the Pro Display XDR with the new model
In his latest Power On newsletter, Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman confirms what has already been rumored in recent months: Apple is preparing a new Pro Display XDR and it should cost a lot less. The analyst “hopes” that the new monitor will cost “about half the price of the current Pro Display XDR.”
According to the expert, the new monitor should use the LED technology and not Mini LED. Also, with “a few changes and perhaps a slight drop in brightness, Apple may have a similar quality product.” But with a less-inch diagonal and a price that is worth half the current Apple Pro Display XDR. Always a professional cost, above what those who do not work with graphics want to spend. But definitely more affordable for those who work with a Mac Pro.
Last year we reported LG was producing panels for new 24 and 27 inch screens, which could be destined for the Pro Display XDR successor. The largest could use a chip A13 Bionic to show pictures without burdening the work for the computer. And also take advantage of the Neural Engine Apple to speed up graphics tasks on its new monitor.
The current version occupies a price range halfway between professional monitors for the film industry and those for more limited professional use (for example for creating videos for social media or YouTube). A model that costs half the price could entice this second group of professionals.
At the moment there are still doubts about the launch of this monitor, we will keep you updated on the news before the possible launch, expected between spring and early summer 2022.
