Land Rover wanted to give us this beautiful surprise, with this Defender SW11 which pays homage to one of the most famous neighborhoods of London. The company continues to work hard, expanding its empire by opening a new factory in Nitra for example and churning out new gems like this car. The car can now be ordered for us Italians, after showing it to Milan Music Week. The car is based on Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE and has a design inspired by the town of the same name which hosts, among other things, the Battersea Power Stationone of London’s architectural landmarks.
Details of the new Defender SW11
In addition to the elegant design dressed in black, both for the bodywork and the rims, the SW11 offers some English Green touches contrasting inspired by the natural colors of Battersea Park. The same color is also present on the Defender writing on the bonnet and in the details of the grille and side air intakes. The tailgate instead has been finished with the “SW11 ONE OF FIFTY” and also a slight reference to Union Flag. Furthermore, with this car, it is possible to choose whether to keep the external spare wheel, to make the car even more suitable for urban environments by reducing the length to 4,323 mm and at the same time providing a greater rear view.
Inside we find a characteristic green colour, with a laser-finished badge on each end inserted into the cross member and can be seen every time the doors are opened. Under the hood is the motore mild-hybrid D200 diesel of the Defender and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, which ensures a relaxing driving mode on urban roads and a lot of responsiveness on more natural roads away from the city. The car starts with a price of 86.814 euro.
