Apple will launch the new iMac Pro in the summer, and not in the months to come. So the analyst reported Ross Young in recent days, which has specified that it no longer expects a launch in the spring, and is therefore inclined to think that the company could release it in the middle of the year. Shipments of the mini-LED displays, which should feature the new models, are expected to start in June. Therefore, the Apple computer could be released in August or September.
iMac Pro: the model with mini-Led display will be released in the summer
In December last year, analyst Young speculated that Apple would release the new one iMac Pro con display mini-Led in spring. And Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman had stated that the Cupertino company could have presented the new device even between March and April 2022. According to the latter, in fact, Apple’s spring event should include the presentation of the iPhone SE with 5G connectivity , a revamped version of the iPad Air with an updated A-series chip and a Mac powered by Apple’s silicon chip. And this could be the new mini-LED iMac that is being talked about so much.
As we reported in today’s DSCC Weekly, we no longer expect the Apple iMac Pro to launch in the spring. Looks more like summer. Still with a MiniLED backlight, but fewer MiniLEDs/zones than in iPad/MacBook Pro’s.

On the other hand, rumors suggest that Apple is working on a 27-inch iMac, which will be sold alongside the smaller 24-inch iMac. Apparently, the larger model will take the name of “iMac Pro” to easily distinguish it from the smaller one, and to align it with the name of the MacBook Pro models. These, in fact, will have the M1 Pro and M1 chips in common, as well as a revamped design featuring thinner black bezels and new possible color options. The mini-LED display, then, is a detail we have already mentioned. At this point, we just have to wait for the Apple event to see if Young’s hypotheses are really correct.
