La recensione di Razer Viper V2 Pro, il mouse wireless ultra-leggero thumbnail

The first time we picked up Razer Viper V2 Pro we thought for a moment it was a mockup. It was so light that we doubted the presence of chips and mechanisms inside it. Then we finished unboxing, retrieved the small USB receiver and plugged it into the computer, finding that everything was working fine.
Now, after a couple of intense weeks of use, we are ready to tell you everything you need to know about this mouse wireless dedicated to gamers.

The Razer Viper V2 Pro review

The Razer Viper series

Razer Viper V2 Pro goes to expand a family of mice perhaps less known than the timeless DeathAdder but certainly very interesting. This is because the Viper family was born with the intention of satisfying the needs of the esports world, where performance first counts.
And it is with this goal in mind that the US company has developed all the Vipers that we have seen popping up on the market in the last 3 years.
Today this range of mice consists of 4 devices:

  • Viper Ultimate, wireless and ultralight;
  • Viper 8K, with wire and a polling rate of 8000 Hz;
  • Viper Mini, with wire and a more compact form factor;
  • Viper V2 Pro, wireless and the lightest of the family.

Lightweight but very comfortable

58 grams.
Lighter than a tennis ball.
That’s why the Viper V2 Pro looks almost fake when you take it out of the box.
Yet it is not. Its low weight is the result of the painstaking work carried out by Razer engineers. In fact, by analyzing the previous models, the US company has identified all the elements that could be lightened by even a single gram.
If you are curious to know how they did it, we suggest you visit the official Razer Viper V2 Pro page, where you will find a very clear diagram that helps you understand where the engineers have intervened.

The result of Razer’s efforts is one of the lightest mice on the marketone of those that allows you to do not struggle to use it, not to strain the hand and wrist in any way.
A result achieved without sacrificing strength and solidity.

Aesthetically it recalls the lines of the other Vipers, with an ambidextrous designthe Razer logo on the bottom and 5 programmable keys using Razer Synapse software. We find then a sixth button on the bottom, dedicated to ignition and sensitivity. In fact, by pressing it you can define the PPE choosing one of the 5 levels set on Synapse. By default you have 400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400 DPI but nothing prevents you from modifying them to suit your needs.

To accompany the mouse we find il dongle USB wirelessthe USB dongle adapter, the SpeedFlex charging cable and, most importantly, the non-slip tapeie stickers that you can apply to the sides and on the two main buttons for increase the grip of the mouse. A little trick to please the pro players and the most seasoned players.

Weight and design matter, but performance makes the difference. So what does Razer’s latest mouse offer users?
We have on board a 30,000 DPI sensor, developed in collaboration with Pixart, the industry leader in intelligent sensing solutions, and associated with a number of features that include the asymmetrical cut-off, that is, the possibility of setting an individual lifting and lowering distance, with 26 levels of adjustment.
The sensor also uses Smart Tracking technology to maintain a constant lifting distance and manages to synchronize perfectly with the PC to ensure a more homogenous tracking.
Also noteworthy is the compatibility with different surfaces – including glass – and better energy efficiency.

The Razer Viper V2 Pro has two other fundamental components: Razer’s optical switches and Hyperspeed technology.
I Razer Optical Mouse Gen-3 are the latest optical switches from Razer, with a response time of 0.2ms and a duration of 90 million clicks. What does all this mean? That the feedback is very fast and that are designed to last over time. And we are talking about tens of years.
The tecnologia Razer HyperSpeed instead it guarantees 25% faster connection compared to the competition, so you never have to regret the cable.

The field test

We put the Razer Viper V2 Pro to the test with different computers, in different environments, and even away from any mouse pads. On all these occasions he revealed himself a faithful allyperfect both during our gaming sessions with League of Legends and Rainbow Six Extraction and during normal work activities, including some video editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and some micro-graphic work with Illustrator and Photoshop.
Razer Viper V2 Pro is precise, very comfortable and light as a feather.

Razer Synapse then it allows you to personalize the experience, customizing the keys, changing the DPI levels, setting the polling rate (from 125 to 1000 Hz) and even deciding how and when to activate the energy saving.
There are no RGB effects, this is true, but we haven’t missed them, especially since white coloring helps us to distinguish the mouse on the fly, without the need for light indicators. Not to mention that this sobriety also makes it suitable for work environments as well as playstations.

Razer Viper V2 Pro con Razer Synapse

The only element we have actually felt lacking is a slot for the USB dongle. Considering the small size, the risk of losing it is always lurking but we have solved it with two different strategies: associating it with the appropriate adapter and the cable, so as to make it a little more voluminous, or inserting it already in the laptop. Maybe not really ordotussive tactics but for now we have never lost it.
