The review of Vivo V21 5G: ready for Instagram direct

Vivo V21 5G is the new smartphone from Vivo, born and designed for your selfies. In our review, we want to tell you everything that lies behind this new model from price of about 400€. This is a mobile phone that focuses entirely on the camera side, mainly on the front and which does not contradict itself from an aesthetic point of view. From the very first minutes, we were struck by its colorful look, but pleasant. Are you curious to know how he behaved? Here are all the details in our review.

Vivo V21 5G review: everything you need

Let’s open the dances of our review of Vivo V21 5G with the analysis of its look. The smartphone arrives in a remarkable package that contains the mobile phone, a 33W power supply and a cable, a USB-C / Jack audio adapter, stereo headphones and a transparent case.

Once removed from the package we immediately notice its lightness: only 176 g. Vivo V21 is also quite compact, thanks to one thickness of only 7.29 mm. It screen and from 6.44 in and is easily operated with one hand. In the front part, at the top, there is a small notch for the external camera. Also on the upper frame (although not visible if not active) there are also two flashes. On the side we find the on and off and volume adjustment buttons, while in the lower part there is the SIM compartment.

The part more interesting however is the back, made of colored plastic. It is a very smooth and pleasant to the touch surface which features a color that varies depending on the light. On the upper left there is the main camera, not too protruding.

A screen that shines

Let’s move on to the display immediately, one of the points that certainly struck us in the review of Vivo V21 5G. Let’s talk about a screen 6.44-inch AMOLED with FullHD + resolution (1080 x 2400p). We then have a variable refresh that reaches up to 90Hz. As with other similar models, also in this Vivo we have the possibility to set the automatic refresh directly from the settings.

On a visual level we liked it, both in terms of sharpness and colors. A bright and lively enough range that can be handled by the settings. We don’t have a huge choice in warm and cold shades, but all in all, we managed to get what we were looking for. Finally, the smartphone has support for HDR and the always on display.

Vivo V21 5G screen review

It’s all about the camera: Instagram I’m coming

The true Vivo V21 5G’s strong point is its camera and, in particular, that front. We have well 44 MP and optical stabilization. It is a winning combination, especially if you want to take important selfies. In addition to this, we also find perfect management of the dark, thanks to the two flashes placed in the frame. In short, you will not miss even a self-timer.

The rear camera that has one doesn’t disappoint too much either 64MP main with optical stabilizer, an 8MP wide-angle and 2MP macro.

The colors of the photos are good, although the AI work is not great, we have seen better. However, these are nested shots, clean and fairly close to true in the range. The videos are also good, not excellent, especially in 4K, but still acceptable.

Vivo V21 is also technically well balanced

Side hardware the Vivo V21 5G it doesn’t excel, but it doesn’t disappoint either. We have a processor Mediatek Dimensity 800U 5G. In detail we find otto core da 2,4GHz. The accompanying GPU is a Mali G57 MC3. They season everything 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. As it is easy to guess, in terms of connectivity we find 5G, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

As for the software, the Vivo V21 is equipped with Android 11 with FunTouch OS 11 customization. On an aesthetic level it is very close to Android stock, although there are some small differences and improvements. There are two custom themes available and, for the moment, it doesn’t seem to be possible to download more directly from the settings.

Vivo V21 review: do we buy it?

As always we come to the time of final lines of our review of the Vivo V21. Summing up, we can consider ourselves quite satisfied of what has been tried. The Vivo home smartphone is mainly aimed at those who want to enjoy a good front camera. The style is interesting, colorful yes, but not too extravagant. Dimensions and weight are optimal. Too bad the absence of the audio jack (although there is a converter in the package) and the price not exactly low for what is proposed. In any case, one good alternative on this range.
