The official website of Hiro Mashima and Atsuo Ueda’s Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest anime released a new teaser trailer on Tuesday revealing the cast, staff and July premiere
As can be seen from the teaser we will find Tetsuya Kakihara, Aya Hirano, Rie Kugimiya, Yūichi Nakamura, Sayaka Ōhara, Satomi Satou and Yui Horie again in their respective roles of Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Happy, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, Wendy and Charle. The main director of the new anime is the director of the Fairy Tail anime series, Shinji Ishihara, while the new anime will be directed by Toshinori Watanabe at JC Staff. The sequel’s screenplay will be supervised by Atsuhiro Tomioka, who had already written the scripts for many episodes of the previous Fairy Tail anime. The characters are designed by Yurika Sako. Shōji Hata returning from the mother series as sound director and Yasuharu Takanashi returning for music.

The plot revolves around Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Ezra and the entire Fairy Tail guild returning to action! The protagonists are determined to face the “100 year quest”. It is a difficult task that no one else had ever dared to undertake since the founding of the guild, for more than a century, therefore. There will be a whole new continent to explore, with a terrible new enemy, a baffling spirit and a mysterious city, in the company of true friends. Ueda launched the official sequel to Mashima’s original Fairy Tail manga in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket manga app in July 2018. Mashima is providing the original storyboards for the manga and Ueda is drawing the series. Kodansha released the 16th volume in December 2023 and will release the 17th volume on April 9.
