Finally something is moving for Netflix’s fantasy TV series. After abandonment by Henry Cavillwho has played the protagonist since the first season, Liam Hemsworth (check out his full filmography) looks set to take the reins of the series by replacing Cavill to play the character of Geralt In Rivia. This will be the decisive month, the month that season 4 of The Witcher will enter pre-production phase. The works should take about 10 weeks and then they will finally be able to start filmingso already in 2024 we should be able to have some previews and see Liam Hemsworth take on the role of the witcher. According to the latest report from Redanian Intelligencethis means that the actual work on the new season will begin March 2024 and they will continue until October 2024although they could end a month early.
The Witcher Season 4: when filming begins and when we will see the new season
Following the trend of previous seasons, considering the production and filming times, this would mean that we should see season 4 of The Witcher in the summer of 2025, although we think we’ll get to see Liam Hemsworth wearing Geralt’s armor sooner rather than later. We don’t know what to expect, to be honest. The series started off quite well, we wrote a review of the first season, but The Witcher got lost along the way and disappointed many fans, Henry Cavill inclusowho abandoned the project precisely because of the bad path it had taken.
Even the author himself, Andrzej Sapkowski, attacked the Netflix show, underlining that he was always ignored and never listened to. It’s not hard to believe him at all, considering the series it is completely different from the original work. However, Sapkowski had totally approved of Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt, believing that his voice is perfect for the character. Who knows if Liam Hemsworth will be up to it and will be able to handle the weight of Cavill’s legacy.
