To better get into the mood – and sincerely hope that this TV series is worth it – we have decided to list the worst TV series, animated and not, inspired by video games.

Unfortunately, as you can imagine, there are quite a few. So, dear readers, let’s get started.

Worst TV series inspired by video games – Netflix’s Resident Evil

We had to start with one of most recent flops in the serial field. Resident Evil is one of the most successful video game series of all time and the progenitor of the genre survival horror. Over the past twenty years Capcom’s product has been the victim of various serial adaptations e cinematicincluding the film series starring Mila Jovovich who have become gods cult but which, however, do not enjoy particular consideration by the avid fans of the game.

After the return of the franchise with the seventh and theeighth chapter, there has been renewed interest in the franchise and in creating film adaptations. Among them we find Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon Citythe most recent film released in 2021 and another incredible failure.

In 2022, Netflix released its own TV series titled Resident Evil: La Serie. As you can imagine, did not achieve the expected success. If you want to know our personal opinion in detail, you can consult the our article.

Mortal Kombat: Conquest

The first title of Mortal Kombat debuted in 1992 and Mortal Kombat: Conquest was released in the late 1990s on the heels of fantasy action shows such as Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. Although the show features some very impressive fight scenesis held back by a Really poor CGIFrom one messy plot which takes place hundreds of years before the original games and also by a decidedly embarrassing acting.

Sonic Underground

In the early 90s, there were two main cartoons from Sonic: a dark and dramatic action series known as Sonic SatAM and a series of over-the-top gags called Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog. Somehow, Sonic SatAM was canceled after just 26 episodes and Adventures received a whopping 65 episodes, plus a Christmas special, despite being a seriously underproduced product.

However, as bad as Adventures was, Sonic Underground was even worse. In a plot that seems to be taken directly from fanfic of someone who hasn’t seen the light of day in months, Sonic is reunited with his long lost brothers, Sonia e Manic, and discovers that they are part of the royal family. Hidden from the queen when Robotnik started conquering Mobius, their destiny is to defeat Robotnik using the power of the rock. As expected, the premise she failed to keep the series afloat.

Worst TV series inspired by video games: The Legend of Zelda

The Legend of Zelda was an action fantasy cartoon based on the classic game for NES. The opening credits promise the action and adventure game fans have come to know from the video game. But unfortunately Link ruins everything by opening his mouth.

Unfortunately the cartoon turned Link into a annoying character and vaguely unpleasant. Plus the texture turns out pretty too poor e flatnothing to do with video games.

Darkstalkers

Don’t be surprised if you have never heard of cartoons Darkstalkers, because they only lasted thirteen episodes. For some reason they made the main protagonist, Morrigan Aenslan, a villain. Then there is the animation, on which we can draw a pitiful veil.

Graz Entertainment has given a whole new meaning to the term “cutting corners”. Also, the fight scenes often consisted of same pair of frames which were repeated slowly and were also frequent color inconsistencies, as well as other errors. Here too unfortunately the plot was flat e incomprehensible.

Worst Video Game TV Shows: Donkey Kong Country

donkey kong tech princess

If The Legend of Zelda was a disaster, Donkey Kong Country was an abomination. As one of the first computer-animated shows, the final product is to be expected doesn’t come as hoped. We were at the beginning of those particular technologies so it was almost understandable to get a quite funny result, here.

The problem, however, was not the new technologies but the product itself. The characters of the cartoon were characterized by exaggerated and disturbing expressionswhile their movements were decidedly pages e scary to watch. And then, well, there are the musical numbers which they leave very to wish.
