TikTok modifica l'età minima per i video live: da novembre solo maggiorenni thumbnail

TikTok changes the minimum age for live videos: from November only 18+

With an official post from ByteDancethe Chinese company that manages TikTok, it was announced that the minimum age to start live video on the platform will soon be raised. Currently, both to subscribe to the platform and to start live, you must be at least 16 years old. From November 23 to broadcast live content you must be of age.

At the base of the change – as Ansa reports – there is a strong stance on the part of the platform, which believes that some types of content are not suitable for too young an audience.

“We want our community to make the most of the opportunities live can offer, without compromising on security.” ByteDance explained in a press release. “We believe these updates can further protect the younger users of our community. We also plan to introduce a new way for creators to choose whether they prefer to reach only an adult audience in their streams ”.

TikTok: the minimum age for live shows will be 18

It is not the first time that TikTok tries to implement a regulation in this sense, also given the average age of its users. Currently, the creation of a profile on the platform is allowed for those who are at least 16 years old, although under 18 it is not possible to create public accounts.

Now the company is considering introducing a keyword filter, to target certain content to a more suitable audience. In the end the social network will ask users to specify whether their posts are suitable for the very young or not (as has already happened for years for videos on YouTube and live on Twitch).
