Phoebe Waller-Bridgeknown for creating and interpreting Fleabag and for his role in the new film Indiana Jones and the Quadrant of Destinyrevealed to IGN that they are working on a Tomb Raider TV series for Amazon Prime Video.
His participation in the project was announced in January, when it was known that he would take care of the writing and executive production of the series inspired by the famous video game franchise. Waller-Bridge has already proven her skills in the action-adventure genre, having been involved in the screenplay of the film by James Bond No Time to Die. Also, in addition to starring in the aforementioned new Indiana Jones film, she was the showrunner of the first season of Killing Eve.

“There are so many things I can incorporate,” Waller-Bridge said of the new project. “I mean, the Lara Croft character is inspired by Indiana Jones and James Bond. So there’s a lot, and it felt like the perfect final step to my own personal venture into this type of franchise.”

The actress also reiterated the importance of making an impressive show, which knows how to mix comedy with feelings. “I like the idea of being, as Steven Spielberg describes it, ‘the greatest show on Earth,’” she said.
At the moment, the Tomb Raider TV series is still in the early stages of development and therefore we do not yet know the details of the cast, director, plot or release date.
