Who like us is a great lover of cartoons Pixar, can’t have never seen Toy Story, one of the most successful classics ever. Its first chapter, entitled Toy Story – The world of toys, released in 1995 was enormously successful, so much so that it led to 4 other subsequent films, the latest arrived in 2019 and simply entitled Toy Story 4. From the latest news it would seem that the adventure of the most famous toys in the world of cinema is not finished. The announcement of a new chapter was already announced in February, but now, thanks to Pete Docter, Pixar creative director, we have new details. Let’s find out.
A new chapter | Toy Story 5: it’s official, the new film will be made
Had been Bob Iger, CEO of Walt Disney Company, the first to announce, in February, that a new chapter of Toy Story was in the works. Then nothing more, leaving the fans, curious to find out more about the new production, dry-mouthed. Now finally, after months of absence, Pete Docter has decided to come forward to the microphones of Variety and announce the first details. From his words it would seem that all the main characters from the cartoon will return:
The fifth chapter will be really amazing. We still have a story for these toys, then Woody and Buzz will be back. But that’s not all, because we also have other projects in development. Trust.
Some of you may turn up your nose at this news, given that the last film released, the fourth, had done justice to the plot, ending each character’s story with dignity. But let’s wait to judge, because from Docter’s words it would seem like a story born at the behest of creative minds and not for marketing needs. Without counting the aforementioned “other projects”, what did he mean? We will see.
The release date
Clearly, with little information released, it’s hard now to talk about when the new film will be released. Nothing has been defined yet, not even who will take part in the project, even if we know that Tim Allen, the voice actor who voiced Buzz in the previous chapters, has already said he’s available for the new project, provided it’s worth it. It is clear that, after these words, a confirmation or denial of his participation could be for us an indication of the quality of the new project. Moreover, we can confidently say that we will not see the new film for 2 years. At the moment, in fact, the slots assigned to untitled feature films are set for 13 June 2025, 6 March 2016 and 19 June 2026. All we have to do is always do the same thing: wait!
