Ratchet and Clank conquer the pinnacle of best-selling video games: here are the weekly sales figures from the UK for the physical market

Despite the turbulent and tremendous flurry of the much feared and fearsome E3, we’re here again to bring you the latest sales figures for the most successful video games in physical format straight from the UK. This time to triumph after the slip is Insomniac Games, this time with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart which has been able to catch similar numbers to exclusive competitors such as New Pokémon Snap and Monster Hunter Rise. The game sold three times as much as the latest PS5 exclusive, Returnal, although it was a decidedly less mainstream title in that case.

Tears apart

The platformer may have triumphed in these latest sales figures, but there have also been other new video games in physical format among the rookies. Another new arrival has in fact placed in the top ten, and it is Chivalry 2 by Tom Banner in ninth place. The best sales were on PS5 (41%), closely followed by Xbox (32%) and, finally, PS4 (26%). Chivalry 2, we remember, was one of the (many) protagonists of the last PC Gaming Show, a conference organized by PC Gamer. However, there is a reissue on which we should spend a few words before continuing further.

Fantastic Intermezzo – Sales figures for video games

Let’s talk about Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which, however, in the sales data has only been able to place itself in twelfth place among the best-selling video games. We remind, of course, that the total number of copies sold will only be known later in the week, when the data for the digital format will also arrive. Going further down into the top 40 we have Guilty Gear Strive for PS5 and PS4. The Arc System Works fighting game, which we will review in the next few days, finds itself in twenty-sixth place. Instead, after only two weeks, a much anticipated title slips unceremoniously into the bottom of the forty games.

We see that we have not chosen the bio – Sales figures for video games

We allude, like it or not, to Biomutant, which in the overall sales figures for video games in physical format is found in an unflattering fortieth place (after the sixteenth of last week, or two weeks ago; read the table at the bottom for clarification on this). The debut took place two episodes ago, with a more dignified silver medal. At the same time, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 it is doing much better in its second week, simply dropping from twelfth to thirteenth place, losing just 18% of sales.

Potendo, Nintendo – Sales figures for video games

Before moving on to the final table for our sales figures, let’s see how home video games are doing Nintendo. The front of the releases will be a little more taciturn in the summer, but the Big N has already made known part of the line-up that will surely become clearer tomorrow with the next Nintendo Direct. This month Mario Golf: Super Rush awaits us, while in July we have an appointment with The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. In general, Switch games always do very well in physical format, so you can expect gold either way.

Concluding records

We are at the end of the line, folks: here is our usual one printout at the end of the article. We remind you, if what we said two paragraphs ago has (understandably) confused you, as you read the table. Every Monday (except for delays) we have the sales data of the previous week, which correspond to the unchanging rankings of the central column. The column on the left instead indicates the positions of the week before, or the “previous episode” regarding our articles and, from a more realistic point of view, what happened two weeks before. Enjoy the reading!
