Video games in physical format see a comeback of engines (game and non-game) on Solcanubi: here are the latest British sales figures

After opening a parenthesis on the results achieved by Death Stranding, let’s go back to dissecting for good sales figures for video games. As happens every Monday, in fact, we are gathered here to collect the numbers provided by the British body GfK on the most successful games in the United Kingdom. We specify immediately, as we have been doing for some episodes, that these are the titles in physical format: the results for digital, in fact, do not arrive before the weekend. That said, let’s dive into this week’s ranking: the leading engines certainly won’t wait for us!

Spin (feathered)

Let’s start with the most awarded game in these sales figures: among the video games that have been able to place more copies, this time, to stand out is F1 2021. The Codemasters racing title has won the acclaim of UK players despite a 37% tumble from week to week. This, however, also means that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD he loses at least one position, and in fact the new effort of Eiji Aonuma finds himself second. The Nintendo Switch exclusive has lost ground by 74%, but it is not unusual to see titles aimed at fans tumbling like this in the charts: the bulk of sales are made on day one.

Litmus Test When Consoles Return – Video Game Sales Figures

In the sales figures, the torrid climate, which also reached the United Kingdom, on video games seems to have triumphed. The general opening after the lockdown did the rest. Which is ironic, if we count that the arrival of new PS5s has led to a peak that brings us back to third position. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. Insomniac Games’ exclusive PS5, in fact, enjoyed a jump of no less than 288%. To echo it we find another work by Insomniac, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which climbs up eleven positions with an increase of 242%, thus finding itself in sixth place.

Next-gen of that – Sales figures for video games

It rains in the wet, and other video games also provide the PS5 fat in the sales figures. The third-party titles, this time, are Assassin’s Creed Valhalla who finds himself twelfth, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ending seventeenth, Marvel’s Avengers which returns eighteenth and Resident Evil Village which replaces nineteenth. Also, an offer that has resulted Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order under ten pounds led EA’s stock to enjoy a 256% jump. The game barely missed the top ten, still with a decent eleventh place.

Nothing new under the sun, or almost – Sales figures for video games

We close the penultimate week of this hot month with some tail-offs for sales figures. There are in fact some new video games that we have not talked about, but which nevertheless have been able to place themselves in the top 40. We have for example Necromunda: Hired Gun, a new game inspired by the grim (“there’s only war”) Warhammer franchise that ranks thirty-third. 41% of sales come from PS5, 32% on PS4 and 27% on all consoles in the Xbox family. The indie role-playing game Crystalsinstead, it ranks thirty-sixth with 54% on Nintendo Switch, 25% on PS5, 17% on PS4 and 4% on Xbox.
