Uncharted Legacy of Thieves: ESRB reveals release date window

The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, the new remaster of the saga, has obtained the ERSB classification, revealing a possible release date

At the PlayStation Showcase conference on 9 September, rather surprising news was given to players, when it was announced that the famous Uncharted saga would find its return also on PC as well as on PS5, thanks to the release of a new generation remaster called Uncharted. Legacy of Thieves Collection. Initially, this remaster it was scheduled for 2022 on the Sony console, while for PC it would arrive a short time later, according to the developers in charge of the port. Recently the ESRB rating, which works as a guide to buying games by age group, may have revealed the game’s official release date, along with some features that may not be available in the collection.

The release date of Uncharted Legacy of Thieves and the possible absence of multiplayer

Prior to Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection, another remaster had already been released by BluePoint, in view of the generational shift that we were experiencing with PS4. It included all three major games in the series, with increased resolution, video re-rendering and improved sound, as well as the ability to hit a stable 60 frames per second. Among the features that did not appear in all three chapters, the criticism was rather vocal especially for the absence of multiplayer mode, considering this a missed opportunity. Recall how in Uncharted 4 a competitive multiplayer and cooperative survival part was introduced to the game, both accessible to players of the Lost Legacy standalone expansion.

This time, the Iron Galaxy studio will be found as porting and “remastering” for PC, and thanks to some details unearthed within the Australian ESRB classification, it turns out in addition to the release date also as the multiplayer is destined not to be there in Uncharted Legacy of Thieves. In fact, within the evaluation it is affirmed the absence of interactive elements, which would consist in the possibility of users to interact with each other.

But to make it more confusing, there is the classification of Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy, where it remains confirmed the presence of online functionality. Also, early 2022 is indicated as the remaster’s arrival period, and perhaps this launch window could be confirmed in the coming months, perhaps during an announcement of The Game Awards 2021, or separately at a State of Play in December.
