Huawei MatePad 11 is the right tool for creatives? We could throw ourselves into some speculation, hypothesize his behavior or try to play the role of real artists and try but there is nothing better than a field test. And so, a few days ago, we found ourselves in the TOILETPAPER Home in the company of two illustrators, Ale Giorgini and Antonio Colomboni.
The instrument: Huawei MatePad 11
HUAWEI MatePad 11 is the latest tablet of the Chinese giant, powered by the new Harmony OS 2.0 operating system and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor. To characterize it we find a 10.95-inch TFT LCD IPS display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels; the screen also boasts a refresh rate of 120 Hz to ensure no maximum fluidity in any situation it’s a DCI-P3 color gamut for vivid and lifelike images.
Finally, let’s not forget the TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light (Hardware Solution) and TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free certifications. This means that the MatePad 11 display is meant to reduce exposure to blue light and flicker so that it doesn’t strain the eyes.
To accompany the tablet we find the Second generation Huawei M-Pencil, a digital pen designed to minimize input lag (only 2ms) and to deliver 4096 levels of pressure for a truly natural drawing and writing experience.
Experience
Once the tablet is set up and the M-Pencil is unlined, what to do? It was to guide us But Giorgini.
Returning from the visit to the TOILETPAPER headquarters, full of images, objects and stimuli, we sat around a table, we selected a corner of the house that we found particularly suggestive and we started to reproduce it with a tablet and stylus.
Nothing too complicated, mind you, and not overly realistic either. Giorgini urged us to use shapes and play with colors, reinterpreting objects and environments and freeing the imagination.
Once we got over the initial embarrassment, we let ourselves be guided by creativity, taking advantage of the application Adobe Sketch and especially la comoda M-Pencil second generation that proved to be extremely reactive and able to perfectly replicate the trait. The display then returned brilliant colors without ever straining your eyes even after 45 minutes of continuous use.

The result? Well, not up to a true designer but the fault is certainly not the tablet.
“I have been using MatePad 11 for a while and it has always amazed me with its great versatility. – said the illustrator Ale Giorgini – The combination with the M-Pencil allows you to create without limits, ranging from different subjects. It is an excellent work tool for a professional in the sector but, at the same time, it knows how to put even beginners at ease. After some practice, designing and creating content with shapes and colors becomes natural and simple for everyone. “
Huawei has therefore really hit the mark, giving life to a product that also meets the needs of creatives as well as being able to support users in everyday life, for navigation, gaming or watching movies and TV series.
To make it possible is also AppGallery, the Huawei store is in fact constantly expanding, with new applications that are added daily to the already large array of software available.
