A limited edition dedicated to record-breaking Italy: UNO Azzurri takes the field and is immediately cheering from the stadium
ONE, the number ONE card game in the world produced by Mattel, this year reached the important milestone of 50 years: thanks to its simple rules, the game, invented in a Cincinnati barber shop in 1971, has been able to win over thousands of players and fans all over the world. The success of UNO does not depend only on its intuitive rules, but also on the brand’s ability to have been able to reinvent itself over time, in different forms and in numerous limited edition collaborations.
UNO Azzurri: the special edition of records for Italy arrives
To continue celebrating his 50th birthday in the name of sharing and fun, UNO takes the field with the FIGC to create a special collaboration: in the year of European Football Championships comes the deck ONE Azzurri, the version of the most famous card game in the world dedicated to the Italian national football team. The rules of the game do not change, but the shape and appearance do: a triumph in this special edition is precisely the blue color which, from the jersey of the national team players, arrives directly on the cards. The true lovers of football, of fun, but above all the true fans of the National team will be able to prove their patriotism by challenging each other with the new UNO Azzurri cards, while their favorites will be engaged in the great challenge of the European Championships.
But it doesn’t stop there. UNO and FIGC join forces to play a much more important game: all proceeds from the sale of UNO Azzurri will be donated to charity to the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, a reference point in Italy and in the world for the health of children, as well as the most important research center in Europe.
The comment by Andrea Ziella, Head of Marketing and Digital Mattel Italia:
At Mattel we are committed every day to having a positive impact on the lives of our consumers with our games because through games we want to give unique moments. With UNO Azzurri we have therefore combined the fun of the number ONE card game in the world with the challenge and excitement of football, undoubtedly the most popular sport in Italy. But we are particularly proud to field UNO and to work alongside FIGC for a really important cause: we want this limited edition to give a smile not only to those who buy it and play with it, but also and above all to the children of the hospital. Baby Jesus.
Marco Brunelli, FIGC Secretary General, continues by saying:
The European Championship represents for all Italians a great moment of sharing the passion for the national team. but at the same time it offers the federation the opportunity to renew its commitment to sensitize fans to assume a socially relevant role in research and prevention. With this fantastic initiative, we want to further involve the little friends of OPBG and their families in a great sporting adventure, and at the same time make them feel our unconditional support.
To celebrate this special edition, the players could not miss the appeal: Bonucci, Florenzi, Donnarumma, Immobile and Acerbi will be the protagonists of a special video dedicated to this collaboration. Not only football champions will compete in a UNO match, strictly with UNO Azzurri cards, but also the little champions of the Bambino Gesù Hospital.
