Urbanista Miami review: headphones with a concentration of quality and style

The headphones of today are the Urbanista Miami, a real concentrate of technology and style for a truly surprising result

Let’s finally talk about the Urban planner Miami, headphones with a strong style and an evident personality. Below we will go to deepen them paragraph by paragraph, in the hope of being able to convey the pleasure felt during the tests.

Packaging and unboxing | Miami Urbanista Review

A self-respecting brand, especially for such a pair of headphones, takes care of theaesthetics of the packaging down to the smallest detail. The same is true for the Urban planner Miami. The package looks like it came out of a jewelry store. Starting from the quality of the cardboard used, passing through all the information on the package, up to the product arrangement and accessories inside.

Let’s start by saying that, by opening the package, you immediately appreciate the very comfortable and durable travel hardcase. In black color, very sturdy, and with a very neat hinge. Inside we find the headphones, a real pleasure for the eyes, but we’ll talk about this later. Below the hardcase we find instead, in a black cardboard, a USB-C cable for charging, a cavo AUX, a airplane adapter and the user guide.

Technical specifications

Let’s talk a little about mere electronics, but after that I promise to get to the point. The Miami they have gods driver da 40mm and support Bluetooth 5. Wireless a 2,4 GHz and frequency range from 20Hz to 20kHz. They are obviously equipped with microphone, ideal for use within a distance of half a meter. They are compatible with Google Assistant, Advanced Audio Coding e AAC (ideal for Apple devices such as iPhone to provide better audio quality). The battery on board is 750 mAh and are stated approx 50 hours of autonomy in playback.

Design and first impressions | Urbanista Miami Review

I’m honest: initially the purple red color in which I later came on test did not fully convince me. However, I was pleasantly surprised not only by the color, but also by the build quality, by the attention to detail.

The rounded shapes they are very pleasant, i pavilions in similar material memory-foam I’m extremely comfortable. A real strength of these headphones is certainly represented by thesoundproofing. Wearing them, in fact, you feel a soft pressure on the affected parts of the head which does not cause any discomfort even after prolonged use but which ensures enviable comfort. The upper bearing also returns a very positive feeling, maybe it is slightly thin, but I really have nothing to complain about. The designultimately, it gives me the impression of being iconic, a bit as if everything were in the right place; as if nothing could be anywhere else but where it is.

Keys and Features | Urbanista Miami Review

Let’s start talking about physical keys. There are four: three in right pavilion e one, larger, in left pavilion. The key on the left pavilion is the one that is suspected to activate the functions of Active Noise Cancelling (one click), Ambient Sound Mode (after activating the ANC, click after two seconds) e Standard Mode (from the ASM mode a further click will be enough). The ANC mode, although much debated in headphones of the not exaggerated price range, I found it particularly balanced. It is evident that the audio quality tends to drop with the activation of active noise cancellation, however in particularly noisy environments it can be really effective. The mode with the ambient sound, which I have found extremely helpful to medium / low volumes. When you tend to turn up the volume of the headphones obviously this mode loses a lot of sense.

On the right pavilion we have instead three physical buttons, the central one used to turn the device on and off, or to answer or reject calls. The two side buttons, on the other hand, are those in charge of the volume and for the choice of tracks. Here a small defect found, really one of the very few: i three keys I’m attached, at first glance very little distinguishable. It would certainly have been more convenient to separate them or at least accentuate more the end of one key and the beginning of the other. On the left pavilion we also find the USB-C input for charging while, on the right, the jack input.

An ingenious function, available in this headset, is definitely the “On Ear Detection“. Through a proximity sensor inside the pavilion, the headset is able to detect when the headset is worn and when it is not. Through this function, therefore, the headset will put automatically paused playback when it detects that the headset has been removed and will take it back as soon as the headset is put on again.

How does she feel? | Miami Urbanista Review

Before going into the pivotal point of the review, I have a moral obligation to underline one aspect. It will be for the Bluetooth 5, it will be for the quality of the 40mm drivers, “It will be what it will be”, but the audio quality of these Urbanista Miami does not miss a beat switching from Bluetooth to AUX cable. I love headphones with the possibility of being used in a wired way because, you know, Bluetooth often negatively affects the audio quality.

First of all, in fact, I used the headphones in a wired way. I was really blown away by a lot of quality, to so much fullness, to many bass so defined, deep, hot. Switching to Bluetooth I got the impression that I left the AUX cable plugged in by mistake than it still felt superbly. I’m definitely not an audiophile, rather an ordinary person who has been lucky enough to try out a lot of headphones. The impression, which I hope to be able to convey to you in these lines, is that of immersive audio, more properly deep.

The mids and highs are certainly very accurate (and do not turn out never overwhelmed from the bass), but the reproduction so faithful bass on a headphone in this price range is really kind. The pleasure of listening to music, from jazz to rock, at a very high volume to capture nuances, like the guitarist’s hands sliding on the guitar fretboard producing that subtle rubbing sound on the strings. Let’s move on to the sector microphone: definitely a good microphone, the voice is certainly clear. Nothing special, mind you, but a microphone who carries out his work “without infamy and without praise”.

Conclusions and prices

Urban planner Miami it certainly amazed me. There are few critical issues encountered; the proximity of the keys on the right pavilion, as already mentioned, and perhaps the lack of dedicated software for the most demanding ears. However the strengths are really many, from design which in my opinion is really beautiful, even the purple red that I didn’t think I loved so much made me think again. They are obviously also available in less striking colors: Grey, nero e White. Not to mention the audio: warm, balanced, precise, deep. I am really satisfied. The headphones can be found on the official website at a price of approx 149€. Ultimately, I believe the price is absolutely congruent with the quality of brand he was born in product.
