Il Goodwood Festival showcases several unique models that will be on the street in a few years. One of these extraordinary cars is the Viritech Apricale. Viritech is a British company specializing in production of hydrogen fuel cells. And on the occasion of the Goodwood Festival he unveiled his car powered by this type of fuel.
Il its external appearance is based on a prototype presented in 2021, but has evolved a lot since the first design. The collaboration with Pininfarina got a design that is nothing short of spectacular. The windshield has a wraparound appearance, very similar to that offered by the Koenigsegg.
Changes from the prototype focus on aggressive looking LED headlights, larger bumper air intakes and a spoiler that takes the design from Formula 1. It also offers very slim LED taillights, an integrated spoiler, two flaps on the car roof and a honeycomb pattern on the rear bumper.
Its measurements are 4,550mm long, 1,900mm wide and it has a height of 1,150mm. Its weight does not exceed 1,000 kg.
Viritech Apricale, space for hydrogen
As regards the fuel cell who equip this hypercar, use Viritech’s Graph-Pro system. They are based on lightweight composites and a graphene-enabled resin system. The hydrogen tanks are integrated into the carbon fiber monocoque frame, which means a significant reduction in weight.
Le fuel cells they offer several hundred kW, although the company has not disclosed the exact figure. Cells for sure of the high-power battery they offer 6 kWh and together they offer the energy needed to move the two electric motors, one on each axis.
I tanks they have a capacity of 5.4 kg of hydrogen, stored at 700 bar. This offers a range of up to 560 kilometers. The overall power offered by these two motors is 800 kWequal to 1.088 CV with a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is just under 2.5 seconds and the maximum speed is 322 km / h.
Fun is guaranteed thanks to double wishbone front and rear suspension with torsion bar operated by the rudder. The brakes are offer 390mm carbon composite discs with AP Racing calipers.
This hypercar will be offered in sole 25 units, which will be on the market in 2024. Its price will be close to 1.75 million euros. So an affordable cost only for a few wealthy speed lovers.
