The realization of Voltron’s live action is getting closer and closer: the knot, however, concerns the rights of the famous anime
One of the most beloved anime of all time may soon become a live action film as well. The project concerning the live staging of Voltron is taking shape, many details have already been fixed, but a very important one is missing to fine-tune. A real one is in fact underway battle to acquire the rights of the anime: we understand the situation better.
Voltron: the struggle for rights
Hollywood Reporter sheds light on Voltron’s live action situation. The project will take place, there is already a director, but a production studio is missing. In this sense, a struggle is underway between different studios, which have sniffed the opportunity and want to land the big shot. So far, the leaked names are those of Warner Bros., Universal e Amazon, but there are likely other competitors in the pipeline as well. The film could therefore be released in cinemas, but also directly in streaming: everything will depend on the outcome of this battle.
While waiting to understand who will produce the live action of the film, we know who will make it from behind the camera. The designated director who will give birth to Voltron is Rwason Marshall Thurber, author of successful films such as A Spy and a Half, How I Speak to Your Family and Skyscraper. The last effort of the San Francisco filmmaker was Red Noticespy movie with Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot produced and distributed by Netflix.
We therefore know that the work for Voltron’s lvie action is well underway, but it will be crucial to understand who will be able to win in this fight for the acquisition of rights.
