VR games: the most anticipated titles of the new year

The new year is now upon us, and after having summed up the 2021 videogame, it’s time to look to 2022 to understand what awaits us starting next month. In particular we have decided to focus on VR games, to understand which are the most anticipated titles for what promises to be a year full of releases and news for virtual reality. We won’t mention VR versions of games like Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell, as there is currently no definitive confirmation on the actual release within the year, but don’t worry – there are juicy news all the same. But now let’s put on the viewer and dive into our list of the most anticipated VR games of 2022.

GTA San Andreas

After the highly anticipated remaster edition of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, welcomed with as much enthusiasm as much disappointment by fans, we know that Rockstar Games is going to be forgiven. A release date has not yet been made official, but we know that a VR version of GTA San Andreas per Oculus Quest 2. Ready to go back to Groove Street armed with a headset?

Moss Book II

Hype skyrocketing for the follow-up to Moss, highly appreciated title developed by Polyarc. Also in the second chapter we will wear the clothes, or rather the fur, of Quill, a rodent armed with a sword who is preparing to fight the forces of evil in a world as fairytale as it is dangerous. The release is scheduled for spring 2022 for PS VR.

Ultrawings 2

Another lap, another race – indeed flight – and another sequel: Ultrawings 2 seems to present itself immediately with the right mix of flight mechanics and aerial combat, with numerous minigames. The new chapter will introduce new planes (5 have been announced for now), a helicopter and a larger game map. In short, if you just can’t resist the temptation to fly and shoot in virtual reality, this title is for you. It will come out in February for Oculus Quest e PC VR, but should arrive later for PS VR as well.

Wanderer

Scheduled for the end of 2021 and postponed for a few months, Wanderer is an adventure and time travel game. The game is clearly inspired by TV series like Quantum Leap and Dark. Out for PS VR and PC VR on January 27, 2022.

Hitman 3 (per PC VR)

How does it feel to play Agent 47 in virtual reality? We actually already found out in the PS VR version, but apparently the experience will soon be coming to PC too. The release of Hitman 3 PC VR it is in fact scheduled for January 20, 2022. So there is little, just the time to read our review of the title.

Requisition

We’ll make it simple: wearing the headset you will find yourself in an apocalyptic world where zombies are taking over. So keep the cat or the dog away, because there will be a fight! One of the most intriguing aspects of Requisition is that we will be able to build weapons by assembling and assembling common objects, such as a knife-toaster mounted on a broomstick. After all, it makes perfect sense to kill the dead. In short, there will be fun and kills (fun). The title will come in February for PC VR.

Green Hell

The release of Green Hell was expected by 2021, but the continuing delays meant that the release of the title was postponed to the new year. A fact that has obviously fueled the aura of hype around this survival-style video game that will take us to the center of a dangerous jungle with one goal: to survive. We expect to be able to prove it by early 2022 on Oculus Quest and PC VR.

Little Cities

Imagine a typical city builder game entirely in virtual reality: touch the buildings, the newly built roads and the numerous elements of the landscape (such as airplanes). Little Cities it is absolutely the dream of anyone who loves this type of games, ed will be released for Quest in the spring.

The Exorcist Legion: SIN

There is only one thing scarier than a well-made horror video game: a well-made horror video game in VR. After frightening everyone with The Exorcist Legion VR, the title is ready to return with a multiplayer sequel announced for 2022. After all, it is more fun to deal with demons if you are in company … right? After all, SIN stands for Safety In Numbers. The Exorcist Legion VR SIN will likely be released in the second half of 2022 for Oculus Quest e PC VR.

Hubris

After having amazed everyone with a first demo, Hubris it will be officially released later this year. The game seems to have everything that matters: an interesting story, curated sci-fi atmospheres, amazing graphics and is, according to those who have tried it, also pleasantly playable (and sorry if it’s not much). We can’t wait to try it on PC VR.

Turbo Overkill

You are a madman armed with a chainsaw and you find yourself in a cyberpunk universe where you have to fight monsters with a pounding guitar riff in the background (which is a clear reference to Doom). What’s better? The game will be released in classic and VR versions by 2022.

Samurai Slaughter House

Brutal and artistic: Samurai Slaughter House aims to mix sandbox, combat and stealth action, for a highly anticipated virtual reality title. The game is strongly inspired by manga culture and is characterized by the unmistakable Japanese atmosphere.
