Top 20 of the best-selling games of March 2022

March was a particularly positive month for sales in the gaming sector, both for consoles and for video games. Taking advantage of Xbox and PlayStation supply shortages was Nintendo, with the Switch establishing itself as the best-selling console of the month in Europe. Video game sales are also very good, with more than that 14.2 millionup 34% from March last year.

In first place in the ranking of the best-selling games we find for the second consecutive month Elden Ring, which dominates both the list of physical purchases and that of digital downloads (Xbox Live, PSN and Steam). The game alone accounted for 69% of total March sales, with peaks in the UK and Germany. In second place we find Grand Touring 7 which, despite strong criticism from users, scores well above all with the physical edition. In particular, the PS5 version accounted for 64% of all copies of the game sold, with particular success in France, Spain and Italy.

To complete the podium we find FIFA 22while it has aged well for nearly 10 years GTA 5 in fourth position. The Rockstar title, released way back in 2013, recorded a 65% increase compared to March last year, thanks also to the new gen console version.     However, Sony dominated the list of accessories sold, with the DualShock 4 controller for PS4 beating its own competition with the DualSense for PS5. The two controllers passed without too much difficulty the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and the Xbox wireless joypads, respectively in third and fourth position. The PlayStation Pulse 3D headset completes the Top 5 accessories.

    Finally, as far as top-up cards are concerned, it is the rechargeable PlayStation cards that hold the record, followed by the Nintendo eShop and the Xbox Live gift cards. in fourth and fifth place we find the Roblox and PlayStation Plus cards.
