What to expect from CES 2022

The pandemic has really deprived us of everything, including the industry events we have always loved to attend. If you remember well, in fact, last year the Consumer Electronics Show it was held for the first time as a digital event. But it may have been the first and last time. As you may already know, the CES 2022 will be held in attendance in Las Vegas from 3 to 8 January. During this week, over 1900 exhibitors e more than 2400 media representatives internationals (including us!) will participate in the 52nd edition of the event.

The spotlight is therefore on the major players in the sector: from Sony to Samsung, from Qualcomm to Panasonic, from Amazon to Google. As usual, in fact, we should expect a lot of news in the audio and TV sector. Indeed, given the numerous rumors circulating on the Net, we have decided to collect here a preview of all the news that the big brands will present at CES 2022.

CES 2022: a preview of all the news presented by the brands in the sector

Harman

On the occasion of CES 2022, the group Harman Luxury Audio – which includes the brands Arcam, JBL and JBL Synthesis, Mark Levinson, Revel and Lexicon – will present its novelties at the “Harman’s ExPLORE 2022” event, which will be held from January 5th to 7th at the Virgin Hotel in Las Vegas. This is an important occasion especially for JBL, which will celebrate its 75th anniversary by presenting a remarkable roundup of new products. And also for Arcam, which gained incredible success with the launch of the ST60 music streamer. In short, given that 2021 was a particularly intense year, it is to be expected that 2022 will also be so for the Harman group.

Hisense

Hisense’s press conference will be held on January 4th, and it is to be expected that the Chinese brand will present some of its most expensive and interesting solutions, focusing mainly on televisions with laser concept. On the other hand, as sponsor of the FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup, Hisense certainly cannot fail to present great news at CES 2022. We do not yet know what it will be about in detail, but what is certain is that the company will not disappoint. our expectations.

LG

2021 was a very noteworthy year for LG, which recently announced the launch of an Evo OLED TV with motorized Kvadrat coverage, and a battery-powered 27-inch model that runs on a kickstand. So what we should expect from the CES 2022 conference we still don’t know. However, the company is likely to announce one breastplate gamma LG-OLED, perhaps with the addition of an OLED Evo panel for category C. Furthermore, LG may even present 42-inch and 97-inch models for OLED series. But we will find out only next January 4th.

Panasonic

Unless Panasonic does not decide to shake up its usual product launch calendar, the Japanese giant will use CES 2022 to unveil its flagship TV. And it will choose to present the low-end models later in the year. This year, however, Panasonic may announce quite a few improvements to its TV: a Master HDR OLED Professional Edition panel, and supports HLG, HDR10, HDR10 + (Adaptive) and Dolby Vision (IQ). Finally, an integrated speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos.

Samsung

Eyes on Samsung’s press conference, which will take place on January 5th. On this occasion, in fact, the company will present interesting news regarding the QD-OLED TV technology. Apparently, Samsung is ready to unveil a new generation of flat screen TVs which will be a hybrid between its Quantum Dot displays and OLED technology. In fact, a series of rumors suggest that the panel maker Samsung Display has entered into an agreement to supply Samsung Electronics with QD-OLED panels starting in late November. Probably, the first models – 55 and 65 inches respectively – will be launched in the first half of 2022, after the announcement made at CES.

Sony

Big news also for Sony, which is planning to launch TV with QD-OLED panels provided by Samsung Display. But it is quite certain that televisions will not be the only products to be unveiled at CES 2022. Following the launch of the 360 Reality Audio wireless speakers, the company now appears to be ready to launch a new pair of headphones as well. Indeed, perhaps the 360 Reality Audio technology will be affected by a new update. Or so we hope. In short, we hope that Sony’s announcements go to alleviate the sadness for the lack of availability of PlayStation 5.
