WhatsApp tests blocking of screenshots for some content

WhatsApp continues its development program and the upcoming news are different: among the new features currently being tested there is a system that provides for the blocking of screenshots for multimedia content that can be viewed only once. Here are the details of this new feature:

WhatsApp starts testing blocking photo and video screenshots from one view

The latest beta of WhatsApp for Android lays the foundation for one of the new features coming to the application. With one of the next updates, in fact, WhatsApp will introduce the blocking of screenshots for photos and videos shared in chats with the setting of “one view only”.

Users who will receive this content, therefore, will not be able to take a screenshot to indirectly save the content. The application, thanks to the blocking of screenshots, will prevent this practice, to the benefit of the security and privacy of users who will be able to share content with greater freedom.

This novelty, revealed by Wabetainfo.com, is currently being testedfor now only on Android, but it should find ample space within all versions of the application which, recently, is available in a native version for Windows.

The testing phase of this new feature could take some time. There are, for now, precise timing to be able to register the arrival of the app. Further updates on the matter will undoubtedly arrive over the next few weeks.
