WhatsApp started working on editing sent text messages on iOS, something users can already do in apps like iMessage and Telegram. Introduced in beta version of WhatsApp for Android, has not yet officially launched the novelty. It looks like the WhatsApp team is still working on it, but this time for the iOS app.
WhatsApp is working on editing messages on iOS
WABetaInfo reports that the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone enables the ability to edit messages, currently only for a small group of users. The feature works similar to what was already implemented in the Android beta: that’s it press a message and tap the “Edit” button.
Unlike other apps like Telegram, users won’t always be able to edit messages. In fact, you can edit only within 15 minutes of submission – as is the case on iMessage. But unlike Apple’s messaging app, there won’t be a history of changes: you’ll just see “changed” on the message.
The feature will only work for text messages, then you will not be able to change the captions of images, videos and documents.
There is currently no way to know when (and if) WhatsApp will make this feature available to all users. Although after arriving in Betacould also arrive soon.
Recently, the Meta company has also introduced innovations such as the supporto del picture-in-picture for video calls, as well as one newsletter function which allows you to add a social element that has been very fashionable lately (and which refers to Telegram channels).
We will keep you updated on possible new WhatsApp features.
