According to rumors, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton will compete in Ferrari, taking the place of Spanish driver Carlos Sainz
A few days ago we talked about the case of Carlos Sainz Jr. who has not yet signed the renewal of his contract with Ferrari, thus suggesting that he will no longer compete with the Scuderia Italiana. According to a report by Corriere della SeraIn fact, instead of Sainz, Lewis Hamilton would compete for Ferrari in Formula 1. Ferrari, in fact, would be interested in bringing Hamilton to Maranellobringing his rival to the Italian Scuderia, snatching him away from Mercedes. The British driver has a contract with the Brackley team until 2025, but would be willing to change the feud, arriving at Ferrari a year ahead of the technical revolution of 2026.
The courtship between Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari
In the past, there had already been interest from both Hamilton and Ferrari start a collaboration, they even came close to an agreement towards the end of the last decade. Hamilton would in fact be very interested in joining the Ferrari family, considering that he was very close to winning the eighth titlefaded at the last minute in 2021, with the same Ferrari, the same team with which Michael Schumacher set the record which would break. At the moment, however, everything is an unknown, given that they will not be able to work together until January 2025. Some might turn up their noses at the age, given that Hamilton is almost 40 years old. Fernando Alonso however, he is demonstrating that chronological age is not a problem: 40 years old today are not 40 years old years ago and furthermore the drivers are real athletescapable of keeping trained.
If Hamilton really joined Ferrari, he would create the perfect pair with Charles Leclerc. Given the controversies between Leclerc and Sainz, the fact that Ferrari wants to welcome an older driver like Hamilton to the Scuderia seems very inconsistent. However Leclerc and Hamilton would travel on different levels, even if capable of colliding. Even though they are very different, they are kindred spirits, even if friends are quick to turn into enemies and Hamilton knows this very well. If the Corriere della Sera report were true, it would be a bomb that would set off a domino effect. The place left vacant by Hamilton at Mercedes would be a highly coveted position and would explode the market.
