If it was in the first film Gene Wilder to lend his face to the protagonist Willy Wonka and in the second Johnny Deppthis time in the guise of the eccentric owner of the chocolate factory we will find Timothée Chalamet. So let’s discover the plot, cast and release date of this new version.
Plot and cast | Wonka: release, trailer, cast and everything we know!
The new film arriving will not (fortunately) be yet another remake of an already well-known and well-transposed story, but rather a prequel. Wonka will in fact focus on Willy’s origins. From the trailer we can deduce that we will see Wonka struggling with the foundation of the factory; however, the realization of this dream of his will not be easy at all, due to the stringent laws of the “Chocolate Cartel”, which do not allow chocolate to be sold in the city.
Wonka, directed by Paul Kingis produced by David Heymanfamous for working on the Harry Potter saga and Michael Siegel, famous instead for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Alongside Timothée Chalametwho we know will play the protagonist, we’ll see Hugh Grant who, although criticized for having taken the role away from other possible actors suffering from dwarfism, will play an Oompa Loompa. They complete the cast Olivia Colman, Calah Lane, Rowan Atkinson, Keegan-Michael Key, Mathew Baynton, Natasha Rothwell, Jim Carter, Sally Hawkins e Tom Davis.
Trailer and release date
We now come to the question that everyone is asking, namely when the film will be released. After several moves (the film was initially supposed to be released on March 17, 2023), it would seem that the established date is now December 15, 2023. Let’s hope it’s the official one, for a project born already in 2016, when Warner Bros purchased the rights. While waiting we can already enjoy, in addition to some promotional photos, also the trailer, which we have made available to you above. The first images suggest that this new film is very much inspired by the 1971 film. This is confirmed by the appearance of the Oompa Loompa played by Hugh Grant, completely similar to those of the first feature film, directed by Mel Stuart. Waiting to find out by finally enjoying the film, we at everything We greet you, but always meet you here, where you can find the latest news dedicated to the world of cinema every day.
