Xiaomi SU7: certified autonomy of up to 800 km

Born along the lines of Tesla, the Beijing Xiaomi SU7 is the first car designed by the famous technology giant. Doubts about autonomy? The Chinese authorities have just certified a maximum range of up to 800 km.

Xiaomi SU7 represents a great achievement for a brand that has so far become popular only thanks to smartphones and technological accessories. The car looks like a rather traditional fastback (inspired by the Tesla Model 3) and is naturally powered by a motor completely electric. The car body is 4,997 mm long, 1,963 mm wide and the total height measures 1,455 mm.

The aesthetic characteristics depend on the trim level chosen by the customer, as well as the battery capacity and the configuration of the traction on a single axle or on both. The construction will be entrusted to BAIC Groupafter completing very rigorous road development tests, accompanied by ministerial certifications. The official presentation to the press could take place as early as the end of December 2023.

Autonomy certified by the Chinese Ministry of Industry

The Xiaomi SU7 was mentioned in edition n.72 of the ‘Catalogue of New Energy Vehicles Nev exempt from vehicle purchase tax’ complete with certification by the Chinese Ministry of Industry. The data highlighted by this document concerns the possible distance with the 73.6 kWh battery, travels 628 and 668 kmand the one recorded with the 101 kWh accumulator, up to 750-800 km.

These parameters must then be compared with a verified curb weight of 1,980 or 2,205 kg, depending on whether the vehicle is equipped with the 579 kg or 645.8 kg battery. An excellent result for an electric car, which is even more worthy of praise for a manufacturer like Xiaomi, just entering the automotive sector. Now all that remains is to wait to see the SU7 on the road and we will obviously continue to keep you updated.
