Ichiban, Koichi and company return in Yakuza 8: the beloved Like a Dragon will have a sequel of its own in the cult saga of RPGs by SEGA
We were graced with a first look at Yakuza 8which evidently will be the following real of a fan favorite, Like a Dragon. The RPG series is therefore about to hang a new blue ribbon, and we owe this scoop to the Japanese magazine Famitsu. In fact, in one of his reports, the staff noticed the new look of Ichiban, Koichi and Yu on the monitors of the Sega Sammy offices in Tokyo. The tour included an interview with the developers, but it is clear that the highlight are the new “mug shots” of the characters, ready to return with a whole new look.
Yakuza 8: the unexpected, unexpected but welcome follow-up to Like a Dragon
As you can see in the tweet we included below, the Like a Dragon veterans will return in Yakuza 8 with purely aesthetic changes. To give an example like any other, Ichiban got rid of the Afro that has always distinguished him. Instead of him, the hairstyle of the reckless protagonist opts for something more sober, although the beard remains. For the moment, this is what we can see from the (little) leaked material, but we also have real information, albeit scarce. We will share them with you shortly after tweet.
An unreleased video of the new work “Ryu ga Gotoku 8” is shown on YouTube by fighter Mikuru Asakura. Mikuru Asakura will also appear in the game!
Before the detailed announcement of “Ryu ga Gotoku 8”, the video was released in an unusual form. In the video, there are also numbers and appearances that look like Adachi-san. Kasuga Ichiban is not Afro, but his hair tied behind him !?

What still escapes our curiosity is the possible release period and what the sequel’s narrative premise is. Nonetheless, we know that the fighting will continue take turnsand that the game will be set several years later the predecessor. We thank the foreign trade press for this last clarification. For the moment, however, we are not really able to tell you more. At the risk of sounding monotonous, we can only invite you to the same expectation that now distinguishes all the titles under the scrutiny of the fans. If nothing else, it’s nice to know you can see Ichiban and associates in action!
