The day before yesterday the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was announced and today we reveal new details on the characters
After persistent rumors, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake was by far one of the biggest announcements at yesterday’s PlayStation Showcase. The fact that the re-release of the beloved game is not by far the most surprising novelty speaks volumes about how great the streaming announcements have been (any reference to God of War: Ragnarok and Marvel’s Spiderman 2 is not purely coincidental). Being a remake from scratch of one of the greatest and most loved RPGs of all time that also bears the name of Star Wars, fan expectations for the new Knights of the Old Republic are very high and in the last few hours some details have emerged about the actors who play the personages of the game. Let’s see all the details about it in the next lines of this article.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake: familiar voices among the voice actors of the new title from Aspyr Media
Developer Aspyr Media reported that the remake from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic will stick to the original game’s narrative while fully modernizing it with new technologies, it has also been confirmed that the development team itself has various developers working on the same original KOTOR, plus there are interesting news for the personages of the game.
In a blog post on the official Star Wars website accompanying the game announcement, Aspyr’s lead producer, Ryan Treadwell, confirmed that the remake will see the return of many voice actors who had a role to play in the original game. One of these will be Jennifer Hale, who will reprise the role of Bastile Shan, whose voice can be heard in the remake announcement trailer. Here are Treadwell’s statements:
I can confirm that this is Jennifer Hale. We all think Jennifer is awesome. She is an extraordinary talent and immediately returned to the role of Bastila when she came to help us with the teaser trailer. I think you’ll see some other familiar voices returning, but that’s probably the best I can say at the moment.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – Remake is currently in early development at Aspyr Media, so it’s unlikely we’ll hear more of the game anytime in the near future. The game will be released as an exclusive timed console for PS5 and PC.
