Following the rumors of last week, in the past few hours we have returned to talk about Firesprite Games, the studio acquired by Sony, which would be working on an unannounced AAA project.
During the past week, some rumors regarding a Virtual Reality title based on the adventures of Aloy, of Horizon, had surfaced on the net. The protagonist of these rumors was Firesprite Games, development studio recently acquired by Sony PlayStation, creator of The Playroom back in 2013 and more recently The Persistence (later also arrived in a non-VR version). In the past few hours we have returned to talk about Firesprite Games, due to a job advertisement published by the same company which is however looking for a writer for a new triple-A project.
In the announcement posted on the team’s official website, Firesprite writes that it is looking for onescryptor for the development of an as yet unannounced and rather ambitious project, a narrative adventure to better specify. The required position must be able to create an interesting story and characters and, even better, should know how to build a multifaceted and multi-level narrative.
Will Firesprite Games’ new AAA project be VR?
It is not yet known if the title in development whether or not exclusive to Virtual Reality. In a recent interview with GameIndustry, managing director Graeme Ankers said that now that it has been acquired by Sony PlayStation, Firsprite Games will not necessarily continue to work on VR exclusives.
Our philosophy is to innovate and create titles for any platform. Whether it’s VR or non-VR. “

In any case, Firesprite Games’ new AAA project may still be related to Virtual Reality, we don’t know enough to rule out any option. And considering that Sony is working hard on the new vision of VR with the new headset not yet shown, the PSVR2, anything is truly possible. What do you think about it?
