Combining whiskey and motorcycles is undoubtedly a bad idea, except in the case of Jack Daniel’s and Indian Motorcycles that punctually each year present a motorcycle born from the collaboration started in 2016: the Indian Challenger Dark Horse Jack Daniel’s Edition.
For this year the limited edition bike only 107 specimens which pays homage to Tennessee whiskey is based on Indian’s Challenger Dark Horse model, which most of the actual design and construction tasks were commissioned to the team at Klock Werks Kustom Cycles of Mitchell, South Dakota.
Indian Challenger Dark Horse Jack Daniel’s Edition, la bugger “al whisky” da 122 cavalli
Three years after starting its partnership with Jack Daniels, Indian Motorcycle revolutionized the bagger market in 2019 with the launch of the Challenger. The bike has since leveraged the power of the Indian PowerPlus liquid-cooled V-twin engine that produces 122 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. The rest also remains as in the original version, so you’ll find Bosch’s Imu platform and Fox branded adjustable rear shock, an adaptive LED Pathfinder headlight and LED driving lights from the same manufacturer.
What changes is the look put on by Klock Werks che hhe covered the 2022 edition of “Rye Metallic”, chosen to emphasize the presence of 70% original rye in Jack Daniel’s distillate (in contrast to what is present in bourbons often composed of up to 70% corn). Golden and green citrus accents intertwine with glossy brown to create a two-tone effect on the Challenger bags, tank, fender and fairing.
The Indian Challenger Dark Horse Jack Daniel’s Edition floorboards are embossed with silver piping, while Indian’s 108 cubic inch V-twin is sandwiched between the cylinders with a serialized Jack Daniel’s Montana Silversmiths badge (numbered 1-107 ).
The Jack Daniel’s logo sewn in gold also features on the seat back. The bike, just to be unique, is also fitted with the top of the Indian Motorcycles stereo range, namely the PowerBand da 400 watt.
Jack Daniel’s version of the Challenger Dark Horse is only available in the US by placing on the plate 36,999 dollars, which at today’s exchange rate are equivalent to about 32,000 euros. The Indians Challenger Dark Horse “base” is available in Italy and starts at a price of 31,490 euros.
