The increase in users has led to greater interest from companies, creating many streaming platforms
In the last period, online streaming platforms have undergone an incredible increase in users, as a result of the greater amount of time spent at home by the population. In reality, video content platforms were already on the rise, however, no one would have expected such a sudden increase.
The increase in users has led to greater interest from companies, creating many streaming platforms, following the current trend. Despite this, some sites found themselves unprepared in dealing with the load on the servers, also generating disruptions for existing customers. More and more people have found themselves having to seek advice on how to improve the quality of content on their favorite online video platform.
How to improve online content streaming
As mentioned above, the increase in users has been both an advantage and a disadvantage for companies, sometimes unable to meet the needs of traffic. This has created a problem, especially for users who have a connection that is not particularly fast. Fortunately, there are tricks to improve online content streaming even without having a particularly fast connection. Here’s what to do:
- Minimize the number of apps or software open. If your content doesn’t load properly, it may be a good idea to close any other open applications. Many apps or software continue to download data in the background, overloading the connection, which should be used 100% for streaming content. An example is the email application which continues to check and download new emails at regular intervals, taking advantage of part of the connection.
- Try using another browser. Depending on the browser you are using, you may not be able to properly stream online content. After all, the browser is the gateway to the streaming platform. Trying to use another browser if the one you usually use is not working correctly may be enough to solve the problem.
- Use data connection and WiFi together. If users are using their own mobile device with data connection they may try to use data connection and WiFi together if they have this feature. While streaming platforms require a large amount of data, drastically reducing the number of GB available, this can be a good temporary solution for watching content that doesn’t load properly that you just don’t want to give up at the moment. In the case of the use of the computer without a data network, another solution could be the use of the Ethernet network via cable, usually more powerful and stable than WiFi
- Watch content at times with less traffic. If none of the solutions above seem to work, there is another trick that could help improve your streaming experience. Watching content during low-traffic times such as late at night can help improve connection and upload speeds. Obviously, this solution may not be suitable for those who have little time to devote to entertainment or for those who want to follow live events. A drastic solution, for an equally drastic problem.
These were just four tips to improve the viewing of content on online platforms, in a period in which user traffic continues to increase dramatically.
