In the past few hours, Electronic Arts has announced the start of tests for the implementation of the cross-play of FIFA 22 between PS5, Xbox Series X | S and Google Stadia
We were talking to you just yesterday about that rumor, rather credible to be honest, for which both FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042 would be arriving in the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Today we return to talk to you about the football simulation par excellence of Electronic Arts, this time, however, it is not rumors, but official confirmations. In the past few hours, in fact, the company is about to start the first tests for the implementation of cross-play between PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and Google Stadia. Oddly, the PC is not mentioned.
The two modalities that will be considered are Online Season and Online Friendly because, according to what is stated by the same Electronic Arts, in this way the chances of introducing new problems in the game will be reduced. The company also stated that the data and feedback collected during the test will help, in the long run, also for the implementation of this feature in future titles of the franchise (and not only).
FIFA 22: cross-play tests are finally starting
Once EA has started the test and cross-play is available, to enable it you will need to look for a widget located in the lower right part of the menu. From this widget, you’ll simply have to select the prompt to enable or disable your participation in the cross-play test. Or, you can navigate to the settings under Matchmaking Options and make the same type of choice. There will be no further changes and you can simply start your games online as you have always done so far.
EA has also confirmed that testing for cross-play in FIFA 22 will have no impact on the game’s gameplay.
