Hayao Miyazaki, master of Japanese animation, amazed everyone by returning to the production of a new film that will be released in 2023 of which he has also already announced the title
Hayao Myazaki, master of Japanese animation and founder of Studio Ghibli, had announced his retirement as producer, creator and director, after many masterpieces in his career. Now, however, comes the official news that he will return to the production of a new animated film, which will be released in 2023. An unexpected piece of news very well received by all his audiences who have been missing his films since 2013, with The Wind Rises.
Hayao Miyazaki: a new film in 2023
The title of the film seems to be tentative and it is How do you live. The story is inspired by the 1937 novel by Genzaburo Yoshino, which tells the story of a rich boy from a family who knows poverty and discrimination through his relationship with his uncle. A film that could be his last, because after The Wind Rises, 2013 the director had announced his retirement and Studio Ghibli had teased that Miyazaki might even put his retirement on hold to make his latest film.
Very high expectation therefore for this work, of which we can also preview the poster, which will probably undergo changes over the months and which takes up the protagonist of the story, with the typical construction traits of Miyazaki.
For those who are passionate about his works, waiting for this latest film, we always recommend a rewatch of his most important titles which have been available on Netflix since last year and despite the rumors they have never been removed from the catalog until now. In the catalog you can find timeless classics such as Howl’s Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke and also other Studio Ghibli titles signed by various talented directors, such as When Marnie Was There.
