Eiji Aonuma speaks: according to the boatswain of The Legend of Zelda, the gameplay of Tears of The Kingdom will drastically change the game world
To have a potential candidate for the next Game Awards, Nintendo has said very little about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomespecially in terms of gameplay. There are less than two months left for the launch of the open world title, but the total scarcity of details on the matter (such as the interface, perennially absent in the trailers) makes fans increasingly impatient. Although playing hole cards, the manager of the series Eiji Aonuma has revealed a little more about what we can expect from the new title. We’re translating another translation ourselves, so expect some “wireless phone”.
Eiji Aonuma remains cautious on gameplay, talking a little about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
At the recent Famitsu Game Awards, Aonuma talked a bit about how The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay will bring significant changes to the game world. It is in fact the kingdom of Hyrule as seen in the predecessor, Breath of the Wild, but the player’s actions will shape him in ways not yet well specified. Aonuma then added, in a sibylline way as always, that we will explore that world we knew so well in a completely different state. And no, we have no idea what the implications of any of this are. The original tweet has been deleted, but the translator Genki_JPN he retweeted foreign press coverage of the statements.

The state of the game world is effectively “unknown” just as Aonuma called it: nothing is known about it. We can only assume that the aerial environments (with associated game mechanics) complete the Breath of the Wild mosaic, but how far the differences go is still a matter of discussion. If nothing else, the Big N guaranteed that the game would justify the increased price, which we set on the seventy cuckoos. The experience will be “incredibly full-bodied and immersive”, so our expectations inevitably remain high in anticipation of 12 maggio.
