The first photos from the set of Ghostbusters 4 reveal the return of three characters who have already appeared in the previous chapters
It is the British newspaper Daily Mail to capture the first shots stolen from the set of Ghostbusters 4, the awaited sequel whose shooting has just begun and which for the moment has an expected daterelease set for December 2023.
The photos, taken at the St. James’s Park stop in London, show us not only Ernie Hudson back as Winston Zeddemore, one of the original Ghostbusters, but also Paul Rudd wearing a tunic that appears to hide a Ghostbuster costume. Surprisingly, then, we see William Atherton once again in the role of Walter Peck after the first film. Atherton had already been invited back to play the role in Ghostbusters II in 1989, but the deal fell through and the character was removed from the script.

The release of Ghostbusters 4 is currently set for December 20, 2023, but it is foreseeable that Sony will move the release by a few months, probably to the summer of 2024. The working title is Firehousewhile the screenwriter is confirmed in Jason Reitman for the production of Sony Picures. Gil Kenan instead he is confirmed director and co-writer together with Reitman.
With this film the saga about the Ghostbusters is enriched after the two historic films of the 80s and the 2021 sequel, also directed by Reitman, starring the family formed by Callie Spengler (Carrie Coon) and her children Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard). The three, after remaining broke, move into Callie’s family home, a farm inherited from their grandfather and located in Summerville, an isolated town where disturbing and inexplicable seismic phenomena occur. Nothing is known about the plot of Ghostbusters 4 yet, except that the events of the film will bring the characters from the third film back to the Big Apple.
