The announcement of a new real-time strategy game in the Star Wars universe may not be as “far away” as the galaxy
After the arrival of Jedi Survivor and twenty-four hours after the celebrations (on May 4th, or “May the 4th”, homophone of “May the Force [be with you]”, “may the Force be with you”), the IP of Star Wars seems to have more surprises in store for fans if i rumor about a new real-time strategy should prove to be reliable. However, since this is a rumor, we remind readers that it is good to take everything with a dutiful pair of pliers. As XCOM and the real-time strategy genre, of which we praised the last great Italian-style exponent, remind us, space can be an excellent setting for the genre and Star Wars seems like a good match for the category. Even the insider seems to think so Andy Robinson, who responded to a tweet about the existence of a new title dedicated to the Star Wars universe. The title, apparently, is being developed in the cauldron of a “high-profile” development team. Robinson, as often happens with insiders, did not unbutton himself further, except to specify that the wait “won’t be long”.

We didn’t mention XCOM by accident. There is another strategy game set in the Galaxy far far away, in fact, and it is the former XCOM developers who now operate as Bit Reactor. However, Robinson threw a pebble in subsequent exchanges in the same Twitter thread. Despite the existence of the latter title, in fact, the subject of the rumor is an unrelated project. To understand what’s cooking, therefore, there is nothing left to do, except to be patient while waiting for someone to confirm or deny the nature of this disturbance of the Force.
