Defined as “a milestone of cinema” by Deadline, “a masterpiece” by Rolling Stone, “absolutely enthralling” by The Guardian, the film was much loved by Italian and international critics. A stellar cast with Academy Awards Robert De Niro e Leonardo Dicaprio for a thriller based on a true story: a sequence of brutal, mysterious murders known as the “Reign of Terror” that bloodied the Osage nation in the 1920s. Among the protagonists also the Oscar candidate Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstonehighly acclaimed in Cannes for her performance, and Brendan Fraser2023 Academy Award winner for The Whale.
Early 20th century the discovery of oil transformed the existence of the Osage who became immensely rich overnight. The sudden prosperity of these Native Americans attracted the interest of whites who began to manipulate, extort, and deceive Osage property, eventually resorting to murder. Based on the famous homonymous best seller by David Grann, Killers of the Flower Moon is an epic film: a story of love and betrayal, crimes and mysteries in a captivating intrigue for the discovery of the truth.
