Packaging, build quality and materials | Huawei Nova 11 Pro review

One of the greatest strengths of the device is certainly its elegant and refined design. Huawei Nova 11 Pro is available in two color variants, Green and Black, which enhance its sinuous curves and slim profile. Previously we find the 6.78 inch AMOLED display, which occupies most of the surface, thanks to its very well optimized frames. At the top of the display there is a double hole that houses the selfie cameras.

Where the Huawei Nova 11 Pro stands out is in the characterization of the back, which features a 3D vegan leather finish capable of giving the device a touch of elegance and refinement. The camera module is positioned at the top left of the device and houses a dual-cam system consisting of a 50 MP Ultra Vision main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide-macro camera. Everything is enclosed in a light and resistant body for a total weight of only 188 grams. A mention of the sales package, unusually full of accessories, such as the 100W fast power supply, the USB-C data cable, a protective silicone cover and a pre-applied film, well done Huawei!

Hardware, connectivity and display | Huawei Nova 11 Pro review

The beating heart of this Huawei Nova 11 Pro is the SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G (unfortunately only in 4G version) supported by GPU Adreno 642L, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of ROM. It is certainly a processor that is not too recent, but still capable of having its say in a rather stale smartphone panorama on the SoC side. There are therefore some stable performance and reliable over time, at the same time as efficient energy management which we will discuss in more detail in the next paragraphs.

The panel then amplifies the sense of speed and fluidity AMOLED da 120 Hz, with support for HDR10 technology, 10 bit (more than a billion colors) and with FHD+ 2652×1200 resolution, whose only real compromise is the presence of the dual front camera which partially “interrupts” the visual experience. The rest of the connectivity is also excellent with support for the Bluetooth 5.2, BLE, and support for SBC, AAC, LDAC audio codecs. The multimedia sector is completed by a audio stereo of a good level, both in terms of quality and power, and clear and precise haptic feedback.

Cameras | Huawei Nova 11 Pro review

The photographic sector of the Huawei Nova 11 Pro is certainly another of the device’s strong points, thanks to the camera 50 MP main with Ultra Vision technology, to 8 MP wide angle and to dual front 60 MP + 8 MP. The latter are truly remarkable thanks to the ability to take extremely detailed selfies in any light condition.

The 50 MP main camera is the flagship of the photographic sector of the Huawei Nova 11 Pro. The camera is equipped with a RYYB sensor (first seen on board the Huawei P30 Pro), which allows you to capture more light and improve the quality of photos in low light conditions. The photo results from the main camera are excellent. The photos are always sharp, detailed and rich in color. However, credit also goes to softwarenow mature, and which comes into action immediately after the shot, giving pleasant and never too ‘artificial’ images.

The 8 MP ultrawide is discreet but still comfortable, in this case also capable of create macros, of decidedly above average quality (see the image gallery). Among the others extra features present in the software we find: Short video, Follow Focus, Video portrait, Story creator, AI-Camera, Wide angle lens, Night, Portrait, High resolution, Photo, Pro, Video, Dual-View, Super Macro, Panorama, Time-Lapse , Slow-Mo, Wide Aperture, Watermark, Documents, Moving Image, Timer, Capture Smiles, Audio Control, Ultra Snapshot, Burst Shot.

Software and autonomy | Huawei Nova 11 Pro review

The battery of this Huawei Nova 11 Pro stands at 4500mAh, not an absolute record, but which combined with the not too energy-intensive SoC manages to easily cover the whole day. Naturally this also depends on the use you will make of it, however in standard conditions, therefore in Wi-Fi/4G, with social use and taking some photos you will have no problems reaching the 6/7 hours of screen on. A result, the latter, also due to the software installed on the device which, in this case, sees a real advantage in the absence of Google services, thanks to significantly reduced background consumption. The charging is also exceptional, at 100W, very fast!

On board we find Android customized with the proprietary interface EMUIhere in version 13. The software is packed with additions and extra features, such as Snippet (quick widgets) and the control panel, net of a few too many advertisements in the system apps. Despite this, the stability and fluidity of the system are second to none, with a truly enviable quality of animations. There are no bugs whatsoever and everything always runs as expected. Naturally, the already mentioned absence of Google services may make more than a few users turn up their noses, however it is good to remember Huawei’s enormous work in this sense, thanks to a store (AppGallery) increasingly rich and complete with applications.

Price and final considerations

Huawei Nova 11 Pro is a product that get to the point, but without necessarily neglecting aesthetics. With a’very good autonomy, exceptional performance but above all a stellar photographic sector for the price range. Of course, the absence of the 5G modem and Google services could still represent a problem for some, however we are certain that many users would equally appreciate the services offered by Huawei. You can purchase it on the official Huawei website at a list price of 649,90€.
