Here is the official Italian trailer for Back to Black, a biopic on Amy Winehouse whose release date is set for April 18th in Italy
For this biopic directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson which chronicles the rapid rise of Amy Winehouse and the release of his groundbreaking, self-titled album, there’s already a release date scheduled and today we even have a trailer. In fact, Back to Black, a biographical film dedicated to Winehouse which takes its title from second and last album released by the singer during her lifetimewho died at just 27 years old due to alcohol excesses, but also due to her drug addiction and the eating disorders she suffered from.
Playing Amy Winehouse in the film is Marisa Abela, English actress born in 1996 who recently appeared in Barbie; alongside her more well-known names such as those of Jack O’Connell, Eddie Marsan e Lesley Manville, the latter in the role of Mitch and Cynthia, respectively the singer’s father and grandmother. Back to Black is a never-before-seen look at Amy Winehouse’s meteoric rise and release of his breakthrough album Back to Black. Told from the singer’s own point of view, the film is an unvarnished look at the woman behind the phenomenon and the relationship that inspired one of the most legendary albums of all time.
The film is written by Matt Greenhalgh (Nowhere Boy, Control), mentre Giles Martin (Rocketman, The Beatles: Get Back) handled the music production and Nina Gold (1917, The Power of the Dog) casting. The film is produced by Alison Owen and Debra Hayward of Monumental Pictures together with Nicky Kentish-Barnes. Taylor-Johnson serves as executive producer with Ron Halpern.
