Sony announced today the launch of a new α (Alpha) lens SEL2450G compact 35 mm full-frame E-mount. This is the FE 24-50MM F2.8 G standard zoom, with a maximum aperture of F2.8 across the entire focal range. Despite its small size and low weight, it offers the excellent resolution and striking bokeh effects you expect from an F2.8 G Lens. With a focal length ranging from 24mm to 50mm, it allows you to obtain images of astonishing quality, whether it’s everyday shots, portraits or videos. Plus, it offers the convenience of a compact lens, which takes up little space and is easy to transport.
Main features of Sony SEL2450G
Thanks to a sophisticated optical and mechanical design, it was possible to maintain compact dimensions: filter diameter of φ67 mm, maximum diameter of 74.8 mm, length of 92.3 mm and weight of approximately 440 g. Thanks to the arrangement of four aspherical lenses and two elements in vetro ED (Extra-low Dispersion) which reduce chromatic aberrations and ensure high resolution from one corner of the image to the other, it is possible to obtain sharp and detailed images at any focal length.
Sony SEL2450G features an eleven-blade circular aperture which, together with the optimization of spherical aberration, allows you to obtain the soft and beautiful bokeh typical of G-series lenses. E, with a minimum shooting distance of 0.19 m (AF ) at wide angle and a maximum magnification of 0.30x (AF), the SEL2450G allows you to obtain high-quality close-ups.
Auto focus linear motors
The attention to quality is equally evident inAF (auto focus) Equipped with two linear motors, which ensures high speed, maximum precision, reliable tracking performance and silent focusing. The lens supports high-speed continuous shooting with AF/AE tracking capable of up to 120 frames per second when mounted on Sony’s Alpha 9 III full-frame mirrorless camera.
For those who want high-level video performance, AF tracking provides the focus control needed to record high-frame-rate movies in 4K a 120p o in FHD a 240p, as well as supporting the internal image stabilization of the camera body in Active Mode so as to create still shots even while walking. Compatibility with on-body breathing compensation helps deliver high-quality video results, while the linear response MF function ensures intuitive manual focusing, always with the highest image quality.
Availability
The new SEL2450G will be available in April at authorized Sony retailers across Europe.
