AMD announced an important extension of the AWS offering based on AMD EPYC processors with the availability of Amazon EC2 M6a instances. The announcement came on the occasion of AWS re: Invent and anticipates the arrival of solutions characterized by a better price / performance ratio and a lower cost than equivalent solutions. AMD presented a extension of the AWS offering with AMD EPYC processors. Thanks to the third generation AMD EPYC processors, M6a instances now guarantee a best price / performance ratio compared to M5a instances. In particular, there has been an improvement in this parameter up to +35%. Also noteworthy is a 10% lower cost compared to equivalent x86-based EC2 instances. The advantages associated with this new solution are therefore really significant.

M6a instances can rely on certification SAP making them ideal for workloads such as web and application servers as well as back end servers. Also note that M6a instances are based on the AWS Nitro System and are available with two more instance sizes than M5a (32xlarge and 48x large).
