The site dedicated toApple Store online mysteriously remained inactive on Tuesday for about an hour, but resurfaced after idle time with a whole new look in full Apple style. The new site now has tabs showing all products and various features reminiscent of the iOS App Store.
The online Apple Store renews its look
At the top of the online App Store, there are images and links to many of Apple’s product lines (Mac, iPhone, AirPods, etc.). Some of these links lead to new product pages in the store, which show which models are available and point to resources such as shopping guides, accessories and support. On the main page of the Store there are also sections for news, links to support pages and more.
The new design is full of tabs: somewhat reminiscent of the Apple App Store for iOS. It seems almost mobile-first, with a smooth horizontal scrolling between the various tabs as if you were scrolling the site with your smartphone. You can move between the tabs using the horizontal gestures of the touchpad or the arrows on the sides of the carousel on the page.
As far as we know, There are no new products. This update appears to be strictly a retelling of the look of Apple’s online store. And the pages for actually purchasing a product don’t seem to be any different than before.
The change at the store comes sooner than it should be a busy autumn for Apple. The company is said to be working on iPhone 13 (coming in autumn), new AirPods and new MacBook Pros which may be launched soon. Whatever Apple products ends up announcing, there is now a new store that can show them.
